Thompson Surveying Consultants were awarded the Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) Contract to survey over 70 kilometres of land acquisitions required for the freeways alignment in early 2006.
This Project is the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken by MRWA with the final length of the Peel deviation to double the length of the existing freeway network, improve road safety and potentially reduce travel time to Perth by 30 minutes for South West users.
To complete these surveys, Thompson survey crews had to liaise with various authorities including MRWA, Landgate, various Contractors, relevant Local Government Agencies as well as individual land owners along the Freeways alignment. They also had to utilise their vast survey experience to overcome some of the hurdles involved in a project of this size and work to a very strict deadline.
